A large swimming pool is one of several water attractions at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, which has recently undergone a $35-million face-lift. The remodeled, 444-room resort can now claim to be one of the more luxurious offerings in the Coachella Valley. Elegant yet family-friendly, the resort’s main draw for kids is Splashtopia, a mini water park with two 100-foot water slides. It also sports a sand beach and a 425-foot lazy river.
